About HoneyView
Your independent guide to one of the fastest image viewers ever made for Windows.
HoneyView (also written as Honeyview) is a free, lightweight image viewer built for speed. Developed by Bandisoft, a South Korean software company, it became one of the most popular tools for browsing photos, viewing comics, and inspecting RAW camera files on Windows. Where other image viewers slow down with large folders or high-resolution images, HoneyView stays fast.
The application handles over 50 image formats out of the box — from everyday JPG and PNG files to professional RAW formats like CR2, NEF, and DNG. It also reads images directly inside compressed archives (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, CBR, CBZ), which made it a favorite among manga and comic book readers worldwide.
The Story Behind HoneyView
From a small Korean utility to a globally trusted image viewer.
First Release
HoneyView launched on April 1, 1999. At a time when Windows image viewing options were limited, it offered a clean, fast alternative for browsing photo collections.
Bandisoft Founded
Bandisoft was formally established in South Korea. The team behind HoneyView also created Bandizip (file archiver), Honeycam (GIF recorder), and Bandicam (screen recorder) — all sharing the same philosophy of speed and simplicity.
Feature Growth
Major updates brought RAW format support, EXIF metadata viewing with GPS mapping, batch image conversion, slideshow mode, and the double-page comic view that manga readers loved. The portable version gained traction with users who wanted zero-install tools.
Final Update (v5.53)
Version 5.53 (Build 6273) shipped on June 21, 2024, fixing a RAR vulnerability. Bandisoft then directed users to BandiView as the successor application. HoneyView remains fully functional and widely used.

Bandisoft
Based in: South Korea
Founded: 2008
Known for: Bandizip, Honeycam, Bandicam, Bandicut, BandiView
Bandisoft has built a reputation for making fast, reliable Windows utilities. Their products share a common design approach: do one thing well, keep the interface clean, and never slow the user down. HoneyView fits that pattern perfectly — an image viewer stripped down to what actually matters.
Why Users Stick With It
Even after being discontinued, HoneyView keeps a loyal following.
In forums and discussion threads, users consistently point to the same reasons for using HoneyView: it loads images faster than anything else, the interface stays out of your way, and the archive viewing feature saves real time when browsing comic collections or downloaded photo sets.
Photographers use it to quickly preview RAW files from shoots. Manga readers use the double-page spread mode daily. System administrators keep the portable version on USB drives for quick image checks. Despite Bandisoft moving on to BandiView, many users continue running HoneyView because it does exactly what they need without extra weight.
The software is free for both personal and commercial use, with no ads, no spyware, and no bundled extras. That alone sets it apart from many free image viewers.
